From Vancouver to Cape Breton — A Canadian Family Business

Wildflowers Aromatherapy was established on April 1, 2000, by Peter Sauer and his daughter Patricia. From the beginning, our goal was simple: offer quality products that provide comfort and are made locally in Canada. That commitment has remained at the heart of our business for more than two decades.

Our story began in Vancouver, where we operated retail stores and built relationships with customers who appreciated our selection of natural and locally made products. One of the brands we have been proud to work with from the very beginning is Warm Buddy. Over the years, Warm Buddy has become a major part of our business, and we continue to offer a wide selection of their heat packs, wraps, warm-up animals and other comfort products.

Taking Our Business Online

As the way people shop changed, so did Wildflowers Aromatherapy. We eventually moved away from our physical retail stores and went all in with online sales.

Our online store allowed us to continue serving customers across Canada while maintaining the personal customer service that has always been important to us. Even though we no longer operate our original Vancouver stores, our connection to Vancouver and Canadian manufacturing remains strong.

Warm Buddy products are made in North Vancouver, allowing us to continue offering Canadian-made products to our customers.

Our Move to Cape Breton

In 2017, our family made a major change. We decided to leave Vancouver and move across the country to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, where we opened a hostel along the Cabot Trail.

Moving to Cape Breton changed where we live, but it didn't change our commitment to Wildflowers Aromatherapy or our online customers.

We were fortunate that Warm Buddy agreed to drop-ship our orders directly from their head office in North Vancouver. This arrangement has allowed us to maintain our online business while living a country away from where Wildflowers began.

Still Canadian, Still Family-Owned

Today, Wildflowers Aromatherapy is based in Cape North, Cape Breton, but our roots remain firmly connected to Vancouver and the Canadian companies and products we've worked with for many years. Our website continues to make it easy for customers to shop online while our orders are fulfilled from North Vancouver.

What started as a family business in Vancouver has grown into an online store serving customers from coast to coast. We're proud of that journey and especially proud to continue offering Warm Buddy products that are made in Canada.
